Test of patience

TUESDAY 15th of OCTOBER 2008

...the morning commute on the no. 12 tram from Grüneløkka to Akerbrygge.

The fact that the tram is FULL of people I can survive. Okey, I'll admitt that it's a bit irritating having people push you around and step on you foot while you sway back and forth with the motions of the tram as you don't have anything to hold on to. But, I can live with it. There are two things that really, really push my buttons that early in the morning:

  1. People who generally block the way for other passengers. There always seems t be someone standing in the way of people trying to get off or on at a stop, thus resulting in a small crowd literally standing on top you, and when you're only 1,60 m tall it's no party I'll tell you. I don't like being squashed!
  2. Mp3-players set at max volume blasting techno-like music your way - is definately one thing I don't need to experience at 8.30 in the morning!

Tomorrow I think I'll try taking the bus...just for fun.

The colour of magic

THURSDAY 2nd of OCTOBER 2008

Autumn is here and has put its grasp on the city of Oslo. As if by the touch of a wand the trees are suddenly coloured in shades of yellow, red, orange and green. Brightly coloured leaves cover the streets of the city and the paths of the parks. The days are getting shorter, and the nights are long and dark.

I have decided to try something new this year. I'm going to embrace the seasons - winter will be here soon enough, and there's no point fighting it.

Well, it wouldn't hurt with just a few more warm and sunny days...

SiO, min SiO!

WEDNESDAY 1st of OCTOBER 2008

I found out just a week ago, and I guess it's about time that I tell the rest of you.

I'll be moving to Grüneløkka very soon, courtesy of Studentsamskipnaden i Oslo (SiO).
I can pick up the keys on the 10th and can hardly wait to have my own room again - even if it only is 12 km2 with a shared kitchen & bathroom.

Crossing my fingers that I get a room with a view!!!
